Scaffolding is safety-critical work. We treat it that way.
A scaffold is worked from by every trade on site. Ozscaf plans, erects, inspects, supports and dismantles every scaffold so that it is safe to use from handover to the day it comes down.
Our approach
Safety and proper scaffold delivery are the same thing.
A scaffold that is planned for its site, erected in the right sequence, tied and braced properly, inspected before use and maintained through the job is a safe scaffold. It is also a scaffold that trades can work from without stopping, which is what keeps a programme on track. We do not treat safety as a separate department. It is how the work is done.
How we manage safety

Planning
Every scaffold starts with the site: what it is going on, what loads it carries, where it ties, how it is accessed and how it comes down. We work that out before the first truck is loaded.

Site-specific requirements
Boundaries, public interfaces, live services, ground conditions and the builder’s own site rules all shape the scaffold. We design to the site, not to a generic drawing.

Competent personnel
Scaffold is erected, altered and dismantled by appropriately licensed and experienced scaffolders, supervised by people who have done it for a long time.

Safe erection and dismantling
Sequenced, tied and braced as it goes up; taken down in the reverse order, not dropped. Exclusion zones and controls are set up before work starts.

Inspection
Scaffold is inspected before it is handed over for use and re-inspected at regular intervals, after alterations and after weather events, with documentation provided to site management.

Communication
Alterations, hand-backs, incomplete sections and anything that changes the scaffold’s status are communicated clearly to site management so no one works from a scaffold they should not.

Safe access throughout the project
A scaffold is only useful if it is safe to use on day sixty as well as day one. Ongoing support, alterations and inspections keep it that way for the life of the job.

Working within Australian requirements
Ozscaf works within applicable Australian work health and safety legislation, regulations and codes of practice for scaffolding and construction work.
